Although the birth of a healthy baby is the ultimate goal of pregnancy and labor, we believe that the process itself has intrinsic value and great importance in the life and psyche of each woman, her family and community. Our goal is to help women experience birth’s transforming power with respect and dignity, in safety, support and confidence.

With a philosophy rooted in the cultivation of health, rather than the treatment of disease, we strive for avoiding interventions, while still protecting the well-being of mother and baby. With clinical skills, intellect and intuition we inform parents if anything falls outside the range of normal.

Following the birth, the midwives assist to create an environment for you to bond with your new baby. We believe in nurturing strong emotional and physical connections between the infant and its parents. This style of parenting encourages responsiveness to the infant’s needs, and babies, in turn, develop trust that the world is a safe place. As a result, this strong attachment helps the child develop secure, empathic, peaceful and enduring relationships.

Birth is safe; Interference is risky

THE MIDWIVES MODEL OF CARE is based on the fact that pregnancy and birth are normal life processes. The application of this woman-centered model has been proven to reduce the incidence of birth injury, trauma, and cesarean section. Click for more information on the Midwives Model of Care
